Data-driven parenting just got a whole lot geekier. Have you ever wanted to display your Trixie Tracker data in the real, physical world? All it takes is some hardcore engineering/CS background, an Arduino circuit board and access to TT sleep probability data. Jason, our lead TT developer, had all of the above in spades and created a cool project that allows him to wire up live TT data to series of LEDs that display a child’s current sleep state and expected sleep probability in the near future.
He documents the whole fascinating project on his blog (Warning! His post is not for the faint of heart.) It’s definitely possible that there will be easier ways to display your TT data in the future, but this is a pretty cool proof of concept.
Nice hackery!
I’d like to have a dedicated iPhone/iPad app that could eventually include alerts based on timings between events – critical need is to have it push updates to the app so mom/dad can stay in sync!
