We made a mistake during routine maintenance this afternoon which abruptly brought the server down. We realized the mistake immediately and began fixing it, but we had to completely rebuild the server which took about 6 hours (1:38pm to 7:44pm ET.)
We know the downtime was very frustrating, but we’re happy to report that not a single piece of data was lost because we maintain live (realtime) data backups on a separate machine.
As a result of today’s mistake, we’re adding a new level of backup service that will let us recover the server much faster in the event anything happens in the future.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience — on Mother’s day no less! — and have added an extra week to every TT account to say thank you for your patience today.
